The Warriors broke out of their recent slump since the start of the new year in emphatic fashion, blowing out the Chicago Bulls 138-96 Friday at United Center.
Draymond Green will miss at least the next two weeks, the Warriors announced Sunday.
The Warriors released a statement stating that evaluation by several specialists revealed that the cause of Green's calf tightness/soreness is related to an issue with a disc in his lower back.
Green first felt the tightness in his calf before the Warriors' game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Jan. 9. He started the game so that he could be on the court for Klay Thompson's long-awaited return, but he immediately committed a foul and was removed from the game after the opening tip.

Green will receive physical therapy and be re-evaluated in two weeks.
While the Warriors beat the Cavs without Green, they lost their next two games to the Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks. They bounced back and beat the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
Between now and Sunday, Jan. 30, the Warriors play eight games, including against the Brooklyn Nets on Jan. 29. Nets star Kevin Durant also will miss that game after sustaining a sprained MCL in his left knee Saturday.

Green is the heartbeat of the Warriors and quarterbacks both the offense and defense. Without him, the Warriors will have to find energy and on-court leadership elsewhere.
