Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins is a huge fan of stand-up comedy.

"I grew up in a household where we watched a lot of comedy," he said to Warriors TV play-by-play man Bob Fitzgerald. "It's just something I've always enjoyed."

On Thursday night, Cousins is hosting the third annual "Boogie's Comedy Slam" at the Paramount Theater in Oakland.

"The whole idea came from the Shaq comedy specials," Cousins explained to Fitzgerald on KNBR 680. "I was like, 'Why not create my own?'

"I took the chance. I started off three years ago with my first one in Sacramento. Each year, it kinda grew. Hopefully, it's a huge success. It's kinda like my little project, my little baby."

Any chance Cousins could jump on stage and do five minutes of stand-up?

"I think Andre Iguodala could get up there and do it," Cousins said. "We've actually been talking about. He claims he has some material written down.

"But you know Andre loves to just talk. But I think he could go on stage and give a good five minutes."

Knowing what we know about Iguodala, the five minutes would include a lot of sarcasm.
