On the Dubs Talk podcast, Grant Liffmann and Kendra Andrews highlight NBA draft prospect Davion Mitchell. Should the Warriors target the Baylor guard with the No. 7 pick?
Davion Mitchell is a player the Warriors might select with the No. 7 overall pick in next week's NBA draft.
There are reports that some members of Golden State's front office believe he shouldn't go that high, so it will be very interesting to see what happens when the Warriors are on the clock (assuming they keep the selection).
If you listen to Mitchell's college coach, Scott Drew, the Dubs shouldn't pass on the Baylor guard.

"He will be in the gym more than Steph [Curry] and Klay [Thompson]," Drew told Wes Goldberg on the Locked On Warriors Podcast. "And that's hard to do because I know how much Steph and Klay are in the gym. And when I say in the gym, [I mean] quality time in the gym. Not just hanging out or getting up a couple shots here and there.
"Draymond [Green] is gonna love having him as a teammate. Steph and Klay are gonna love him because he's gonna get them shots and help cover up defensively. And everybody is gonna love him because he can win now.
"What he'll be in four years is a lot better than where he's at now. But at the same time, where he's at now is good enough to win you a championship. He's not carrying the team, but he can be in the rotation, he can be a starter and you're winning now."
Sounds pretty great, right?
So why isn't he considered a lock at No. 7? Well, some are skeptical about his ability to knock it down from deep at the next level.
Others simply view Mitchell as a guy who doesn't have nearly as high a ceiling as other prospects, and don't like how he will turn 23 years old in September.
Nevertheless, the 2020-21 national defensive player of the year averaged 14.0 points, 5.5 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals as a redshirt junior en route to winning the national title.

"Davion literally [has] no holes to his game," Drew said. "And on top of that, you throw in low-maintenance, great teammate, committed to winning, the fact that he loves to work out [and] study the game ...
"Hopefully he never changes. Dream come true if you get a chance to coach a guy like that. Very humble, very considerate. It's easy to cheer for him.
"His teammates really respect his work ethic. And at the same time, because he's an unselfish player and he loves passing the ball, they love playing with him."
