President Trump rescinded the Warriors invitation to the White House in 2017. Obama’s former senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer thinks the Warriors should return if Joe Biden wins the presidential election.
Could the 2017 and 2018 Warriors championship teams who refused to visit the White House under the Donald Trump administration get invited retroactively if Joe Biden wins the November presidential election?
Dan Pfeiffer, the former Senior Advisor to President Obama and co-host of "Pod Save America," joined the Runnin' Plays podcast and posed it as a possibility.
"If Joe Biden wins, maybe Steve Kerr should demand they get to do their '17 and '18 (visits). They are short two rings, two trips to the White House," Pfeiffer declared.

On Sept. 22, 2017, Steph Curry and the Warriors made it clear they had no desire to visit Trump and the White House to celebrate their second title in three years.
“I don’t want to go. That’s the nucleus of my belief. If it was just me, it would be a pretty short conversation,” Curry said at the Warriors' media day that year, speaking on the team's decision on the issue at that time.

Superstar teammate Kevin Durant reiterated Curry's thoughts.
“I don't respect who's in office right now,” Durant said.
Trump famously then "disinvited" Curry and the Warriors from the White House the next day, after the team said they weren't interested in going.
The Warriors had celebrated their first title in the Curry era in 2015 and visited Barack Obama's White House in February of 2016. They have not been back since, despite winning two more titles.
In fact, since President Trump took office, no NBA championship team has visited the White House.
But Pfieffer brought up the fact that history says a retroactive trip to the White House is possible.
"Because the '86 Bears never got to go when they won the Super Bowl, for some logistical reason I don't remember what it was, and then they came right before Obama left, so you can retroactively do these visits."
The story goes that the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears were supposed to visit President Ronald Reagan at the White House in 1986, but just a couple days after their win at Super Bowl XX, the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster occurred, derailing any celebration.
But in 2011, 100 former Bears players and staff of that championship team flew a chartered flight to Washington D.C. to meet with President Obama and finally get their White House visit.

As for the Warriors, Biden, of course, was the vice president when the team last visited the White House in 2016. So the retroactive invite could make even more sense.
"So if the players that did not get to go that last year of Obama, want to go, they should just talk to Joe Biden because I'm sure they would be more than happy to restart the tradition of NBA players visiting the White House," Pfeiffer explained.
The idea could get even more traction given the fact that Sen. Kamala Harris, who is on the Biden ticket as the Democratic vice presidential nominee, is an Oakland native and former District Attorney of San Francisco.
Most importantly, she's a self-proclaimed Warriors fan.
"Oh, 100 percent!" Pfeiffer exclaimed when asked whether Harris could be the key to this reunion. "I'm going to text her people and suggest that. That would be a very popular thing to do, they should host that."
