The Warriors selected Moses Moody with the No. 14 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and Moody believes he can contribute right away.

Moses Moody's dream came true Thursday night when he was selected in the 2021 NBA Draft, going No. 14 overall to the Warriors.

In the moments after the Warriors made the pick, Moody's phone likely was blowing up with congratulatory texts, calls and social media posts from friends, family and peers.

If Moody checked Twitter, he very likely saw a tweet from Washington Wizards All-Star guard Bradley Beal congratulating him.

As a 16-year-old high schooler in 2018, Moody played on the Bradley Beal Elite team as part of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League and averaged the second most points (13.4), while also grabbing 3.1 rebounds and dishing out 1.2 assists in 20 games.

Moody, a Little Rock, Ark. native, played his high school ball at the Montverde Academy in Florida, but returned to his home state for college where he attended Arkansas.

In his lone season with the Razorbacks, Moody averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 33.8 minutes over 32 games.

Myers states Butler-to-Warriors one of NBA's ‘best in-season trades'

Beal has been linked to the Warriors for several weeks, and Dub Nation was hoping the Warriors would use the No. 7 and No. 14 picks in Thursday's draft as part of a package to get the three-time NBA All-Star.

No trade materialized before the draft, so the Warriors drafted G League Ignite forward Jonathan Kuminga at No. 7 and Moody at No. 14.

As NBC Sports Bay Area's Brian Witt wrote, the Warriors nailed the Kuminga pick and got the heist of the draft with Moody at No. 14. Both players were projected to go higher than they were selected, so the Warriors have to feel good about the two players they added to the roster.
