What if Steph and Ayesha Curry never happened? It was a possibility -- if they listened to actress Gabrielle Union’s advice.
The Currys were on a double date recently with Union and her husband, 13-time NBA All-Star Dwyane Wade. This "date," of course, was of the 2020 variety, in the form of an Instagram Live session as the world remains in lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.
During the conversation, Union told a story of a time years ago where she wasn’t too supportive of Ayesha and the Warriors star dating.

"I enjoyed my life," Union added. "And that is the exact advice I gave Ayesha and a young Steph.”
Union said the suggestion for Ayesha was rather simple.
"I was like, 'You guys, the likelihood of this working out is very low,'" Union said. "'You should just break up now and have sex with other people.' I used different language, but is that not what I told y'all both?"

They agreed.
Ayesha remembered the conversation and recalled the moment Union saw her at that birthday party.
"You looked at me and said, 'How old are you? ... Okay ... '"

Wade said Union wasn’t about settling down back when she was younger, and Union even admitted she would probably give the same advice now.
Ayesha and Steph were married on July 30, 2011 and have three children together. I think we’re all pretty glad the couple ignored Union’s thoughts.
