Sharks tweet some shade at Vegas penalty kill in Game 1 vs. Avalanche

The Sharks' first-round playoff series with the Vegas Golden Knights ended Tuesday, but the Twitter haymakers did not.

San Jose killed off a four-minute penalty Friday night in the second period of Game 1 of their Stanley Cup playoff second-round series with the Colorado Avalanche. Then, the Sharks' Twitter account threw shade at their rivals in Sin City.

The Golden Knights, of course, allowed four goals in three minutes on a five-minute major penalty, blowing a three-goal lead in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Sharks in Game 7 of their first-round series. Brenden Dillon's double minor Friday wasn't quite as contentious as Cody Eakin's cross-checking major (and game misconduct) -- a call the NHL already has apologized to Vegas for getting wrong. But San Jose did something Vegas could not and didn't allow a goal on the extended penalty.

The Sharks' Twitter missive comes days after a series in which players -- and coaches -- talked plenty of trash. So, while the Golden Knights' season is over, this rivalry sure seems like it's just heating up.
