New Sharks general manager Mike Grier had a chance to add a major talent to San Jose's system with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, but at the last minute, he decided to move the pick to acquire more assets.
While the Sharks were on the clock at Bell Centre in Montreal, they traded the No. 11 pick to the Arizona Coyotes for the No. 27 overall pick and two 2022 second-round draft picks (No. 34 and No. 45).
