Five Raiders who need to make statement in preseason finale vs. Seahawks

The Raiders have been evaluating their talent pool for some time. Most players have been around for the entire offseason program, training camp in Napa and three preseason games to this point.

They know what they have, from the unquestioned starting quarterback to the young cornerback who rarely sees action. Thursday’s preseason finale at Seattle won’t change opinions much, if at all heading into final roster cuts.

It offers an opportunity to punctuate spring/summer, to make head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock think twice before making tough choices.

Most Raiders with roster spots secured won’t play the Seahawks. Health preservation’s vital at this stage, a week-plus away from the regular season.

Those taking the field will try to put good tape out there for the Raiders or another team looking for a particular skill set.
