Keegan Murray’s twin brother Kris and their father, Kenyon, join “Kings Pregame Live” ahead of Sacramento’s first playoff game since 2006.
Keegan Murray's father, Kenyon, knows the work his two sons put in to be where they are in their respective basketball careers.
Joined by Kris Murray -- Keegan's twin brother -- Kenyon spoke to NBC Sports California's Kyle Draper, Matt Barnes and Kenny Thomas on "Kings Pregame Live" on Saturday about how he felt seeing Keegan's success in Sacramento and Kris' potential as a top-20 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
"To me, I'm very proud because one, they stuck through it," the elder Murray said. "They love the process of getting better, they always work."
Kenyon added that seeing both his sons succeed at the collegiate and NBA level is "incredible" for him and his wife, Michelle, especially as one does battle with the Golden State Warriors and the other prepares to be a key contributor in the NBA.
"We know that not everybody gets a chance even though everybody wants to play in the NBA, but to have one in and Kris being on the cusp of being in the NBA, it's just, for us, it's all the hard work that they put in and the fact that they believed in their mom and I, I'm just speechless," Kenyon concluded.
As a former player at the University of Iowa, Kenyon knows what it takes to succeed at the collegiate level in order to make it to the NBA. With his knowledge, Keegan and Kris both have used that to their advantage this season.
With Sacramento, Keegan averaged 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 80 games and also broke the NBA's record for most 3-pointers made by a rookie with 206.
