As expected, the Kings announced Tuesday evening that big man Marvin Bagley officially is done for the season.
Bagley, 21, injured his right foot during practice on Sunday morning when he came down on a teammate's foot while grabbing an offensive rebound. On Monday, he was seen walking around in the Orlando bubble using crutches and wearing a boot on his right leg.
After a 48-hour wait to get the results back from an MRI, the team announced via press release that Bagley sustained a lateral right foot sprain.

In his second NBA season, Bagley played a total of 13 games in 2019-20 due to a broken thumb, a left foot sprain and now a right foot sprain.
Before the season went on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, Bagley was not expected to play again this season. With four months to rehab and prepare for the season, Bagley had an outside shot of playing in Orlando due to a rash of positive coronavirus tests to the Kings’ other big men.
According to head coach Luke Walton, Bagley looked good during his short stint of training camp, but his inability to stay healthy has once again become an issue.
With Bagley out of the picture, Nemanja Bjelica will continue to start and play major minutes at the four for Sacramento. The Kings were also able to get Richaun Holmes back to practice on Tuesday and big man Alex Len is slowly working his back into shape after a long stretch of inactivity due to the coronavirus.

This is disappointing news for both Bagley and the Kings. More than anything, he needs time on the court to develop. The team is hopeful he will be ready to roll in training camp later this year.
