Everyone wants to know who the next Giants manager will be. The reality, though, is that we won't know for a few months.
President of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi will take his time trying to find the successor to Bruce Bochy.
Dodgers bench coach and former A's manager Bob Geren reportedly is the only known candidate for the job that is opening for the first time since 2006.

But a few publications are throwing names out as possible candidates. Some might make Giants fans cringe, and others might make them smile.
ESPN.com listed five people who currently hold very different jobs:
Giants bench coach Hensley Meulens
Dodgers bench coach and former A's manager Bob Geren
Dodgers special assistant/baseball ops Raul Ibanez
Angels special assistant to GM Eric Chavez
Yankees bench coach Josh Bard
Meulens has interviewed for open managerial positions for the last few years, so it's a role for which he's been prepared. A native of Curacao, Meulens has been on the Giants' coaching staff for 10 seasons. He's paid his dues and likely is ready to take the next step. But Zaidi might want a clean start with someone with whom he has a connection.

Zaidi will have a lot of resumes to sift through for this job. This process will take a long time, and it won't be an easy choice.
The guy Zaidi hires might be on the lists above, or it could be someone not mentioned.
