Report: Rays exec Chaim Bloom remains Giants' GM candidate

The Giants remain in the hunt for a new general manager just 10 days away from the GM meetings starting on November 6.

San Francisco's front office has searched far and wide for a new GM, and have narrowed their search. One candidate that remains in the running is Rays senior vice president of baseball operations, Chaim Bloom, according to Jon Heyman.

Sources tell NBC Sports Bay Area the Giants have interviewed all three candidates in Heyman's report. The Giants have reportedly interviewed Kim Ng for the open position as well.

According to Heyman, the Giants also tried to interview A's GM David Forst, Brewers GM David Stearns, and Indians GM Mike Chernoff. All three will remain with their clubs in 2019.

Bloom, 33, was promoted to his role in the Rays' front office in 2016. He is a Yale graduate who has spent 13 season working in Tampa Bay.

Alex Pavlovic and Ahmed Fareed discuss Bloom as a candidate for the next Giants GM on the latest episode of The Giants Insider Podcast.
