MLB Twitter explodes after Giants trade for former MVP Bryant

The Giants made a splash at the MLB trade deadline by acquiring four-time All-Star Kris Bryant from the Chicago Cubs on Friday. While it was down to the wire, San Francisco got their guy.

Bryant was one of the bigger names on the trading block, and baseball Twitter was stoked to have the former NL MVP wearing orange and black.

Here are some of the reactions across social media.

To start things off, this was the exact moment Bryant found out he was being traded. He showed his emotions after spending seven seasons with the team that drafted him back in 2013.

Giants starter Alex Wood blended in with the rest of trade deadline Twitter with many eye emojis.

Giants Insider Alex Pavlovic dubbed this the perfect fit all along.

Some viewed Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi as some sort of superhero:

Giants general manager Scott Harris, formerly employed by the Cubs, probably is looking forward to this next chapter for Bryant as well.

The Giants Triple-A affiliate River Cats appeared pretty happy with the acquisition:

Some weren't too happy with it.

NBC Sports Bay Area's own Bonta Hill likes it. He “likes it a lot.”

Anthony Garcia, one of the hosts of “Summer Sunday” physically felt his excitement.

And we know the aesthetic will be good.

This season, Bryant has been playing multiple positions, which will be a great tool for Giants manager Gabe Kapler to utilize. He'll likely spend the beginning part of his Giants career at while Evan Longoria finishes his rehab, but can also play first base and all three outfield spots.
