Yaz's grand slam brings back Bonds memories to Giants fans

Tuesday night's thrilling 9-8 comeback win over the Arizona Diamondbacks was just the third time the Giants launched multiple Splash Hits in a game. The previous two were done by Barry Bonds alone.

Both Steven Duggar and Mike Yastrzemski made their way to McCovey Cove, and the biggest blast of the night brought back a lot of Bonds memories.

Yastrzemski unloaded on a breaking ball with two strikes and two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning with the Giants trailing 8-5 and hit a grand slam 395 feet into the water with a 104.7 mph exit velocity. It wasn't the distance or the exit velocity that reminded fans of Bonds, though.

From the lean back on Yaz's follow through to his bat drop and strut down the first base line, his deep fly was eerily similar to Bonds back in the day.

Bonds and Yastrzemski can't look more different. The former Giants legend might be the most intimidating hitter of all time just for his presence in the box. Yastrzemski is listed at 5-foot-10 and 178 pounds.

The grand slam gave Yastrzemski seven homers on the year and 38 for his career. Bonds hit more than 38 homers in a single season eight times in his storied career.

Make no mistake, though. There's no denying how much Yaz looked like the Home Run King with one swing to keep this magical Giants season humming.
