The opener of a four-game series at Nationals Park was postponed Thursday night because of rain in Washington D.C. The teams will play a split doubleheader on Saturday, with the first game starting at 11:05 a.m. PST and the second one at 4:15 p.m. PST. The games will be seven innings.
DeSclafani now will pitch in Friday's game, while Kevin Gausman will be pushed back to start one of the games on Saturday. Johnny Cueto will take the ball in the other game.

The rain started in the nation's capital at about 2 p.m. EST on Thursday and never really let up, which might have actually been a break for the Nationals. They got into town hours after the Giants did on Wednesday after playing extra innings in Tampa Bay, and they weren't situated back home until well after midnight.

The Nationals were also scheduled to have ace Max Scherzer on the mound Thursday, and with rain in the schedule all night, it's no surprise that they didn't want to start and stop, potentially losing him after just a couple of innings.
The Giants have had one previous rainout this year. They split a seven-inning doubleheader with the Rockies at Coors Field the next day.
