The Giants weren't expected to contend this season. It was supposed to be a rebuilding year, so they should be happy with how well the team played. But to get this close and miss out has to sting for Farhan Zaidi, Gabe Kapler and the entire organization.
The good news for the Giants is that the future is bright.
