SAN FRANCISCO -- Just about everything seems to be happening at lightning speed for Heliot Ramos right now.
With the first swing of his career, Ramos picked up his first big league hit. He smoked a 107 mph grounder up the middle that ticked off Jazz Chisholm's glove as he tried to keep it out of center field.

As the crowd at Oracle Park gave Ramos a standing ovation, the baseball was thrown back into the dugout to be put in a glass case and then in Ramos' locker.
Ramos didn't have to wait long for his first big league run, either. In the morning, he said he hopes to steal 20 bases in the big league, and that speed was on display as Ramos scored easily on Mauricio Dubon's double to left. Dubon scored the go-ahead run when Luke Williams singled for his first Giants hit.
Ramos was called up Sunday morning after less than a week in Triple-A. The Giants have not yet committed to giving him an extended run in the big leagues. Manager Gabe Kapler pointed out that the club also faces a left-handed starter on Wednesday, and a decision is likely to be made after that.
