Going home with a souvenir baseball is a goal of just about every fan who walks into a big league ballpark.
But for one particular Giants fan Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium, it wasn’t the one he wanted.
In the bottom of the sixth inning in the series finale between the Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers, star outfielder Mookie Betts launched sinker from Alex Wood into deep right-center field. Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski raced back and leaped at the wall, but a Giants fan snagged the baseball.

Now, Yastrzemski didn't have a realistic chance at robbing the home run, but the Giants fan was saddened regardless. The fan realized his instincts took over, and regret quickly swept over his face. The reaction was incredible.
All in good fun, Dodgers fans showed their support for the Giants fan in strife.
After Wednesday's finale wraps up, the two rivals won’t play again until a three-game series at Oracle Park from June 10-12. It's the fan's next chance at redemption.
