Field to Table: How to create the perfect ballpark nachos from home

0:00

Field to Table gets cheesy this week as Kelli Johnson, Alex Pavlovic and Anthony Garcia create ballpark nachos at home using different ingredients. Rich Aurilia has final say on who’s nachos reign supreme.

Nachos are a staple at any sporting event. On the latest episode of “Field to Table,” the group recreates the dish that is not only good, but also tastes a little bit more special when being eaten at the ballpark.

Perhaps it’s the way you have to grip your beer very strategically as you sip in between mouthfuls of cheesy goodness. Or how you stack each tortilla chip to perfection making sure it’s covered in all of the ingredients.

Yep, I’ve done this before.

Kelli Johnson, Alex Pavlovic and Anthony Garcia are joined once again by guest judge Rich Aurilia to see who put out the best nachos. And before you say anything -- ballpark nachos are just better than regular nachos, so let’s just finish that debate now.

Here are the recipes they used:

Anthony’s simple nachos

-Ground beef
-Salsa
-Pinto beans
-Homemade guacamole
-Nacho cheese

Alex’s Petco Park-inspired nachos

-Carne asada
-Cheddar cheese
-Mexican style cheese blend
-Cotija cheese
-Homemade guacamole
-Pico de gallo
-Fresh jalapenos
-Sour cream

Kelli’s pollo asado nachos

-Pollo asado
-Black beans
-Homemade guacamole
-Salsa
-Sour cream
-Shredded Mexican style cheese blend
-Fresh sliced jalapenos
-Fresh tomatoes
-Fresh green onion
-Fresh cilantro (We understand some of you hate this idea)

Anthony did not season his meat, he microwaved his cheese and then put it in an A’s hat. This just goes to show there’s no way of messing it up.

Don’t worry, if you weren’t a fan of his, Kelli and Alex more than made up for it.

Who was the winner? Well, check above in the video to find out. And see which wines go perfectly well with nachos. Trust us, wine goes with everything.
