Giants Postgame Live analyst Shawn Estes targets four relief pitchers who could be acquired to shore up the bullpen before the deadline, including Tyler Rogers’ twin brother Taylor.
Over the weekend, the Giants often looked like a team that could use the return of some injured players. The good news is they're trending in the right direction on that front.
Manager Gabe Kapler started his pregame session Monday with an update on his many players stuck on the IL, and the Giants could get a few back as early as this week. Kapler said Alex Dickerson (back) should be activated as soon as Saturday and Darin Ruf (hamstring) could be back during this four-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Ruf and Tommy La Stella (hamstring) ran the bases on Sunday and it went well.
The Giants also are seeing improvements on the pitching side. Reyes Moronta (flexor) and Logan Webb (shoulder) are ready to begin throwing programs, setting both back on the path toward the big league roster. The Giants have been without Moronta for most of the season and Webb has missed the last couple of weeks after his shoulder acted up for the second time.

"Logan Webb has been chomping at the bit and feeling really good," Kapler said.

The Giants could also soon see another newcomer make his debut in the bullpen. They sneakily added John Brebbia in the offseason and helped the right-hander finish his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Brebbia will go back-to-back games for Triple-A Sacramento the next two nights and then the Giants will decide if he's ready to join the bullpen.
Brebbia had a 3.14 ERA in 161 relief appearances for the St. Louis Cardinals over three seasons. In six rehab innings for Sacramento, he has allowed two runs on three hits and struck out 10.
