A's winning streak ends after Manaea fails to make it out of third vs Dodgers

BOX SCORE

OAKLAND — Khris Davis homered for the 11th time in his last 15 games, but that was the only offense the A's could muster Tuesday night, as they fell to the Dodgers, 4-2. It was Davis' 32nd home run of the season, third best in Major League Baseball. He also singled to go 2-for-4 on the night.

Sean Manaea had his shortest outing of the season, lasting just 2 2/3 innings and giving up three runs on five hits and three walks. He took the loss and fell to 10-8. Kike Hernandez, Austin Barnes, Cody Bellinger, and Matt Kemp drove in runs for the Dodgers.

The loss snapped Oakland's six-game winning streak and dropped them to 67-47 on the season, 5 1/2 games behind Houston in the AL West. The A's remain two games ahead of Seattle for the second AL Wild Card spot, as the Mariners lost to Texas. Here's what else you need to know...

--- Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect ninth inning for Oakland, striking out a pair. He has not allowed an earned run in nine innings with the A's.

--- Matt Chapman doubled in the sixth inning and has now reached base safely in a career-high 22 straight games. It's the longest active on-base streak in MLB.
