The A’s general manager, David Forst spoke to the media after how veteran lefty Mike Minor fits with A’s for the rest of the 2020 season and into the playoffs.

The A's are about to play a whole lot of baseball in a short span of time.

On Wednesday, the A's announced they will make up their postponed game against the Houston Astros with a doubleheader in Oakland on Tuesday, Sept. 8. They will play two seven-inning games that day, with the Astros being the home team in Game 1.

And with that, the A's now are scheduled to play 10 games over a seven-day span from Sept. 8 through the 14th. They will play three doubleheaders in three different cities over that period. According to A's Baseball Information Manager Mike Selleck, that will be the most games the A's have played in a week's time since 1966.

Along with their doubleheader against the Astros, the A's also have doubleheaders scheduled against the Texas Rangers on the road on Sept. 12, and one vs. the Seattle Mariners on the road on Sept. 14. Later in the month, the A's also have another doubleheader in Oakland against the Mariners scheduled for Sept. 26.

The A's will play 26 games over 27 days in the final month of the regular season. They entered Tuesday with a 22-10 record, good for three games ahead of the Astros in the AL West standings.
