OAKLAND — Fernando Rodney pitched around a single and hit batter in the ninth inning to put up yet another zero. Since joining the A's, Rodney has pitched four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks, with four strikeouts. Overall, he has not allowed an earned run in his last nine innings. Jeurys Familia also had a nice bounce-back performance, pitching two scoreless innings, after allowing five earned runs in his previous two outings.

--- Wednesday marked the fourth A's game of the season that was scoreless through nine innings. The last time that happened was in 1968. The A's have also been involved in four of the seven games that were scoreless through 11 innings this season, going 2-2.

--- The A's fell to 10-5 in extra inning games, while the Mariners improved to 11-1. Seattle's 11 extra inning wins are the most in MLB.

--- Oakland was shut out for the first time since June 9, a 2-0 loss to Kansas City.

--- Despite the loss, the A's have won 17 of its last 21 home games. For the season, Oakland is 35-24 at the Coliseum.

--- Jed Lowrie leads all Major League second basemen with a .995 fielding percentage. He has only committed two errors all season.

--- Brett Anderson pitched 7 2/3 shutout innings for the first time since 2015, as a member of the Dodgers.
