Reliever Andrew Chafin talked with A’s Pregame Live host Brodie Brazil about his trade deadline move to the Athletics.

Andrew Chafin has been making his presence known quite well on the Athletics after being acquired before the MLB trade deadline in July.

Oh yeah, and he’s also a very aggressive flosser.

The 31-year-old took to Twitter to show off his new smile, with a small gap in his teeth after losing a pearly white apparently from aggressive flossing.

Happens to the best of us, right?

Chafin claims it happened during Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox, and it wasn’t the first time this has happened to him.

Since coming to the A’s, Chafin is boasting a spotless 0.00 ERA with nine strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings, limiting batters to a .200 average. He’s also very much being embraced by Oakland with their laidback attitude.

Kotsay welcomes ‘higher level' expectations for Athletics in 2025

“He’s great,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said last Saturday. “He’s not the most vocal guy in the world, at least not around me, but he’s a fun-loving guy and it never looks like anything is bothering him too much. I think he enjoys playing baseball and enjoys life in general and that’s the part that shows up for me.

"He’s always got a smile on his face and is always looking to pitch and get in there to contribute. Those are the type of guys that seem to acclimate to whatever team they’re on, that have those types of personalities and he’s fit in really well here.”

The A’s had wanted to add bullpen relief since back in April and with the Chicago Cubs being a seller -- and Chafin’s impressive numbers -- it was the perfect fit.

Now, if only we could find him a boat.
