SANTA CLARA -- 49ers running back Matt Breida left Sunday's loss to the Cardinals with an ankle injury, but a source said X-rays came back negative, and he's hopeful to play in the team's next game.
Breida will have an extra day to rest since the 49ers don't play until Monday, Oct. 15, against the Packers.
Breida exited Sunday's game in the first quarter, and Alfred Morris took over lead running back duties. Morris had 18 carries for 61 yards.
