
If you found yourself confused by Thursday's trailer for Avengers: Endgame, Richard Sherman is here to get you caught up.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Chris Long tweeted after the trailer's release that he was looking for a quick catch-up on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU, for short). Who could blame him? Endgame is the 22nd film (yes, you read that right) in the MCU, and basically is the culmination of a story that began with 2008's Iron Man.
That's a lot of context to catch up on before Endgame is released on April 26, but the 49ers cornerback has a solution: Film study, and lots of it.

And here I thought Sherman would have been a DC Comics guy, since his famed "Legion of Boom" is a clear nod to the "Legion of Doom," the Lex Luthor-led team of DC supervillains.
As far as the list goes, the absence of Thor: Ragnarok is an oversight on the level of not giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch in Super Bowl XLIX. Plus, Ant-Man and the Wasp and the recently released Captain Marvel have some plot implications for Endgame, namely when [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS]. He had already listed 18 of the movies, why not break out the full 21?

But, I'll give Sherman the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn't have the Wikipedia page listing all the MCU films in front of him. That's impressive recall, but Long seemed daunted by the task.
If Sherman's recently acquired teammates want to get on his good graces, it looks like a Marvel marathon is in order.
