Linebacker Mark Nzeocha, the leading vote-getter among fans for a spot on NFC Pro Bowl team last season as a special-teams player, signed a three-year contract with the 49ers on Friday.
Nzeocha , 29, a four-year NFL veteran, took a visit to meet with the Buffalo Bills as an unrestricted free agent on Thursday before deciding to re-sign with the 49ers.
Nzeocha received overwhelming support in the Pro Bowl voting from NFL fans in his native Germany. However, Nzeocha was not selected to the Pro Bowl team.

Nzeocha, who tied for the 49ers lead with seven special-teams tackles, also recorded a career-high 17 tackles with a sack on defense. He appeared in all 16 games with three starts at outside linebacker.

He entered the NFL in 2015 as a seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys. Nzeocha spent his first two seasons with the Cowboys before the 49ers signed him off the Cowboys’ practice squad in 2017.
