NFL Draft 2020: Javon Kinlaw says 49ers are team he wants to take him

A mutual interest between an NFL team and the player it selects is crucial, especially with how much value lies in a first-round pick in the draft.

One projected first-round prospect who has a keen interest in joining the 49ers is South Carolina product Javon Kinlaw, he told a fan during a recent Bleacher Report Q&A.

“If I had to say...I'd say the 49ers,” Kinlaw told a user when asked what team he’d most like to be drafted by.

When another user asked about how he'd envisioned playing alongside Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead and Dee Ford, Kinlaw had nothing but positive things to say.

"They just a wonderful group of guys, a talented group that works together. They work together for the same goal, not individual achievements, and that's to get the win at the end of the day. That's what I want to be a part of, someone who looks at it as a whole."

Kinlaw is among this year’s top defensive line prospects, collecting six sacks and six tackles for loss in his junior season in the SEC.

NBC Sports Bay Area’s Dalton Johnson and Josh Schrock have Kinlaw staying in the southeast and being taken by the Atlanta Falcons at No. 16. in our latest mock draft. But if the big three wide receiver prospects (Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb and Henry Ruggs III) are off the board when the No. 13 pick comes up, Kinlaw could end up being an intriguing option for the 49ers, especially after the team traded defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to receive that selection from the Indianapolis Colts.
