The last thing the 49ers want to see right now is players going down to injuries.
San Francisco was hit hard by the injury bug last season, and the 49ers already are dealing with some dings early on. On Sunday in their regular-season opener, it got much worse.
Coach Kyle Shanahan said after the 49ers' 41-33 Week 1 win, the team fears cornerback Jason Verrett sustained a torn ACL in the fourth quarter of what was at the time a blowout game against the Detroit Lions.

While attempting to cover receiver Trinity Benson, Verrett's right knee appeared to buckle.
Verrett was ruled out with a knee injury and had to be carted into the tunnel. General manager John Lynch joined him.
As he attempted to walk to the locker room with help, Verrett clearly was distraught and in plenty of pain.

Verrett has missed multiple seasons in the past with knee and leg injuries. His 13 games played last season were the most he has appeared in since he made the Pro Bowl in 2015 after playing 14 games for the then-San Diego Chargers.
