Kyle Shanahan, Arik Amrstead and Fred Warner weighed in on whether MetLife Stadium’s artificial turf is to blame for injuries to Nick Bosa, Jimmy Garoppolo, Solomon Thomas and Raheem Mostert.
Numerous 49ers players, including Nick Bosa and Jimmy Garoppolo, went down with injuries Sunday.
Defensive lineman Arik Armstead believes he identified the culprit, and called out MetLife Stadium's turf surface on Twitter right after after the Week 2 win over the New York Jets.

Armstead spoke to reporters after the 49ers' 31-13 win, and further explained why he was frustrated with the MetLife surface.
“I think the turf was pretty thick," Armstead said. "Guys seemed to be getting stuck in the ground more regularly. A bunch of guys went down. Wasn’t real fun to be a part of.”
49ers coach Kyle Shanahan expressed similar frustrations with the field during his postgame press conference.
The 49ers weren’t alone, as the Jets also dealt with multiple lower body injuries during the game. New turf was installed at MetLife this offseason.
In all, Bosa, Garoppolo, running back Raheem Mostert and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas all were ruled out during the game with injuries.
Unfortunately for the 49ers, their next game will be right back at MetLife, as they will face the New York Giants there in Week 3.

Although the 49ers should be pleased with earning their first win of the 2020 season, this definitely would qualify as a pyrrhic victory for Shanahan and Co.
