The 49ers (5-7) are on the fringe of the NFC playoff race. The Cowboys are in last place in the abysmal NFC East, though they are just two games out of first place with a 3-9 record.

Neither team is exactly worthy of being featured on prime time these days, as the NFL determined on Wednesday morning.

The 49ers-Cowboys game scheduled for "Sunday Night Football" on NBC on Dec. 20 has been changed to an earlier kickoff.

The 49ers’ Week 15 game at Dallas has been changed to a 10 a.m. (PT) kickoff. The game will be televised on CBS.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns at the New York Giants is the matchup that bumped the 49ers-Cowboys game from prime time. The Browns-Giants game will now kick off at 5:20 p.m. on NBC.
