  • FA Kicker (FG) #19
Tom Pelissero reports that the Commanders plan to sign free agent K Austin Siebert.
Seibert will be the replacement for Cade York after the Commanders released York on Monday following an 0-for-2 kicking display. Siebert made his only attempt as a member of the Lions in 2023, and has a career mark of 80.4 percent in 56 attempts.
  • NYJ Kicker #9
Jets declared K Greg Zuerlein, DE Will McDonald, RB Izzy Abanikanda, T Max Mitchell, CB Bryce Hall, LB Zaire Barnes, and WR Jason Brownlee inactive for Week 2 against the Cowboys.
Austin Seibert will kick for New York for at least one week. Hopefully Zuerlein, who has missed time with various soft tissue injuries in recent years, can return for Week 3.
  • NYJ Kicker (FG) #19
    Jets signed K Austin Seibert.
Seibert last kicked for the Lions in the 2022 season and was waived by the team early in the season ahead of their Week 5 game in favor of Michael Badgley. He will now fill a glaring need for the Jets who will be without starter Greg Zurlein, who suffered a groin injury in Thursday’s practice and will be inactive on Sunday.
  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
    Lions waived K Austin Seibert.
The veteran wasn’t able to play through a groin injury last week, and the Lions reshuffled their practice-squad kicker situation by bringing in Michael Badgley for Week 5. Badgley is Detroit’s kicker going forward and the Lions will likely play practice-squad elevation games with him for a few weeks. Seibert will look to catch on elsewhere after recovering from his groin injury.

  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
Austin Seibert (groin) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
The kicker is trying to come back from an injury that cost him a Week 4 play. Michael Badgley was picked up to Detroit’s practice squad and will likely go if Seibert is still unavailable on Sunday. The Lions kicker spot has less value than it did last week in what projects as a slower game with a lower over/under against the Patriots.

  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
Lions K Austin Seibert (groin) got in a limited practice Wednesday.
It is a step in the right direction after he sat out Week 4 against the Seahawks. Assuming he does not suffer any setbacks, a practice this early in the week likely means Seibert will be ready to kick against the Patriots on Sunday.

  • DET Kicker #17
Lions signed K Michael Badgley to the practice squad.
Badgley is staying in the NFC North after filling in for Cairos Santos in Week 4. He made 4-of-4 field goals and was the Bears’ only source of points against the Giants. The Lions bring him onto their practice squad as a precaution in case Austin Seibert can’t go. Coach Dan Campbell is hopeful Seibert will be ready, but he already missed Week 4. Badgley will once again get the call if Seibert can’t play against the Patriots in Week 5.

  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
Lions K Austin Seibert (groin) will not play in Week 4 against the Seahawks.
That more than likely will leave Dominik Eberle as a practice squad elevation to replace him. Seattle/Detroit has a 48 over/under, meaning Eberle won’t be a bad flyer/cheap DFS play in Week 4. The Lions expressed some optimism on Seibert’s injury on Thursday but it can’t be taken for granted that he’ll be available for Week 5 after missing every practice this week.

  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
Lions K Austin Seibert (groin) did not practice Thursday.
He also did not practice Wednesday. Special teams coordinator Dave Fipp expressed optimism Seibert will be able to play through the injury, but two missed practices in a row is a concern. Dominik Eberle would likely get promoted from the practice squad if Seibert cannot go.

  • WAS Kicker (FG) #19
Lions placed K Austin Seibert on reserve/COVID list.
If Seibert is fully vaccinated, he can return after testing negative twice in a 48-hour period. If he’s not vaccinated, he must go through a 10-day quarantine and likely miss the next two games. Ryan Santoso, who most recently went 2-of-2 with a missed extra-point try in Week 1 with the Panthers, is the next man up on Detroit’s depth chart.
