Giants signed Ohio State WR Austin Mack.
Mock was a consistent performer for the Buckeyes, picking up 24-to-27 catches over his last three years at Ohio State and ending his collegiate career with 79 receptions for 1,050 yards. Those numbers aren’t spectacular, but keep in mind that the 6-foot-2, 215-pound wideout was consistently playing behind NFL players in Columbus. As Dane Brugler of The Athletic writes: “Overall, Mack is a Jekyll-and-Hyde finisher and lacks dynamic speed, but he is a mature route runner who understands timing, which gives him the chance to earn a final roster spot.”

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compares Ohio State WR Austin Mack to New York Giants WR Cody Latimer.
Mack (6'2/215) is a prime example of a player looking the part without ever producing like it. Zierlein praises Mack for “intelligent and instinctive with route work” and crispness at the top of his routes, but the fact that it never resulted in 400 yards or four touchdowns in any season is concerning. Perhaps Mack was just buried behind too many other talented players at Ohio State, but it is still tough to buy into a player with a high pick considering that production profile. Mack projects best as a backup and special teamer.

Ohio State WR Austin Mack caught one pass for 14 yards in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Saturday.
Mack (6'2/215) didn’t get much action until the fourth quarter, but he made his opportunities count. Though Mack caught just one ball, his lone reception was on a 4th-and-5 early in the fourth quarter that helped keep the South’s slim chances of winning alive. Mack had a fine week down in Mobile, but likely not strong enough to push his stock up out of Day 3.

Ohio State WR Austin Mack accepted an invite to play in the Senior Bowl.
Mack (6'2/215) is a big receiver who’ll box you out and take the fight to the skies at the catch point. He isn’t afraid to take a shot to come down with the ball between the hashes, either. His value is capped as a possession receiver, however, because college corners didn’t have much trouble staying in his hip pocket. Mack only posted a 79-1,050-6 line over four years at Ohio State. Some guys in this class topped that in 2019 alone. His testing numbers will clearly be vital to his evaluation.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) is expected to be able to play in Saturday’s game against Penn State.
Mack (6'2/215) has not logged a catch since mid-October. The senior wideout owns a modest 15-207-2 receiving line on the season and while not exactly a spectacular get-back for OSU, will add another target in the receiving corp.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Rutgers.
Mack (6'2/215) has missed each of OSU’s last two games due to an undisclosed injury concern. The senior wideout did dress prior to last weekend’s win over Maryland, though he did not ultimately end up playing in that contest. Rutgers might as well be another bye for the Buckeyes, as they should be able to take care of the Scarlet Knights easily enough while allowing dinged up players such as Mack a little extra rest in advance of the team’s more pressing upcoming contests against Penn State and Michigan.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) is in uniform ahead of Saturday’s game against Maryland.
Mack is considered a game-time decision with his undisclosed injury, and the 6-foot-2, 215-pound wideout appears ready to roll against Maryland. He’s caught ‘only’ 15 passes for 202 yards with a couple of scores in 2019, but he adds another playmaker for Josh Fields and the loaded Ohio State offense.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision for Saturday’s game against Maryland.
Mack (6'2/215) sat out against Wisconsin on Oct. 26 due to an undisclosed issue. He has had a subsequent bye week to rest up, but remains a question mark for Saturday. The senior wideout owns a 15-207-2 receiving line for the campaign. OSU’s offense should be fine even if Mack can’t ultimately give it a go upcoming.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) is not on the field during warmups before Saturday’s game against Wisconsin.
Mack was considered a game-time decision against the Badgers on Saturday, and this seems to suggest that the wideout won’t be able to go for the showdown. Ohio State has plenty of options at the wideout position, but all signs suggest they won’t be without one of their best for the critical contest.

Ohio State senior WR Austin Mack (undisclosed) is listed as a game-time decision, per the team’s official injury report.
Mack (6'2/215) struggled with hamstring issues during camp before the season, but it’s unclear if this week’s minor injury is related to that at all. Whatever it is, Mack may not end up playing Saturday. Mack has caught 15 passes for 207 yards and two scores this season, serving as a solid depth option for the Buckeyes. Stay tuned Saturday morning for Mack’s playing status.
