Eagles signed sixth-round pick QB Kyle McCord to a four-year contract.
The four-year rookie deal is worth $4.46 million. McCord will now spend the next four months jockeying for the No. 2 position on the depth chart with the Eagles’ 2023 sixth-round pick, QB Tanner McKee, and free agent-signee, QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson. McCord possesses a strong arm and solid pocket awareness. Regardless of his ultimate depth chart landing spot, he should be a fun preseason performer. The Eagles also announced the signings of LB Smael Mondon Jr., OT Myles Hinton and OLB Antwaun Powell-Ryland.
  • Eagles selected Virginia Tech EDGE Antwaun Powell-Ryland with the No. 209 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ryland’s ability to get to the quarterback is what really stands out, recording 16 sacks and just one season alone. That ranked third in the country. At 6-foot-3 and 258 pounds, Ryland showcases a ton of upper body strength. In 2024, he recorded 48 total pressures, with nine QB hits and 25 hurries. As a run defender, Ryland is a bit inconsistent. There are times where he isn’t as active with his hands and he’ll get beat in those one-on-one battles. He also has short arms, which can effect him on certain plays against the run. Overall, Ryland is a very exciting player to watch. He’s a true pass rusher who can make noise off the edge. He became the first Hokie since 2005 to record 10 or more sacks in a season. He’s not a very polished run defender, but he is a nice mid-round prospect a team would love to have.

    Dan Mullen
    HS
Florida HC Dan Mullen has been reprimanded by the Southeastern Conference and fined $25,000 for his actions following Saturday’s win over Missouri.
Florida’s blowout win in the team’s first game since October 10 due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the program was marred by a bench-clearing brawl that took place just before halftime. What exactly Mullen, who was seen firing up the crowd while heading back to the locker room, did after the game was not stated in the release issued by the SEC. In addition to being lighter in the wallet Mullen will be down two players for the first half of Saturday’s game against Georgia, as DL Zach Carter and LB Antwaun Powell were both ejected for fighting. Should either get in another fight, they would be done for the remainder of the season.

Rivals recruiting analyst Mike Farrell used the word “powerful” to describe Florida four-star 2020 DE commit Antwaun Powell-Ryland.
“Powell-Ryland is a powerful defensive end who isn’t the longest kid in the world but gets to the passer with effort and solid technique,” Farrell, who also noted that the Florida commit is mobile enough to be used at linebacker, wrote in his analysis. Powell-Ryland (6'3/234) also took official visits to Maryland, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech before deciding that he’ll play his college football in the SEC.
  • PHI Outside Linebacker #52
Florida received a verbal commitment from four-star 2020 DE Antwaun Powell.
Powell (6'3/234) had been planning on holding off until July 4 with his announcement, but jumping the gun on those plans, he can take it easy over the holiday, now. The Portsmouth, Virginia, native went through his due diligence before taking the Gainesville plunge, having already made use of his five allotted official visits. In addition to Florida, Oklahoma, Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia Tech drew official trips. Rivals’ Adam Friedman refers to Powell as an “important piece to the (Florida) puzzle” and a “pure pass-rusher.” On the 247Sports composite board, the lineman ranks as the No. 136 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2020 DE Antwaun Powell is taking an official visit to North Carolina this weekend.
Powell (6'3/234) took an official visit to Oklahoma for their spring game and has several official trips set up for June. Beyond his current UNC official, he has visits scheduled to Virginia Tech, Florida and Michigan before the start of the summer dead period. For those keeping track at home, this means that the Portsmouth, Virginia, native will have made use of all five of his official visits by the end of the month. Look for him to make a commitment at some point this summer, barring a change of plans. On the 247Sports composite board, Powell ranks as the No. 136 overall prospect in the 2020 class.

Four-star 2020 DE Antwaun Powell announced Thursday that he has been offered a scholarship by Miami.
This news comes two weeks after Powell (6'3/234) released his list of eight schools, and Miami was not on that list. Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State and Virginia Tech were the eight schools named, but there’s a lot of time left before Powell will have to make a decision. The four-star defensive end has taken his first official visit already, as he was at Oklahoma with weekend of April 12.
  • PHI Outside Linebacker #52
Four-star 2020 DE Antwaun Powell released his list of eight schools Wednesday, with Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State and Virginia Tech making the cut.
Powell (6'3/234) is considered to be one of the top weakside defensive end prospects in the 2020 class, with 247Sports.com having him ranked 12th. The Portsmouth, Virginia native is scheduled to officially visit Oklahoma the weekend of April 12, as he’ll be part of a group of highly regarded prospects set to attend the program’s spring game. Powell, who picked up the Georgia Tech offer earlier in the week, unofficially visited Michigan in March.
