Anthony Swarzak has elected free agency.
The right-hander was desingated for assignment on July 17 by the Royals, but no team decided to make a claim on the 35-year-old. Swarzak has allowed right runs over 7 2/3 innings this season.

Royals designated RHP Anthony Swarzak for assignment.
Swarzak is removed from the roster to make room for Wade Davis. He struggled with the Royals; giving up eight runs on 13 hits over 7 2/3 innings (9.36 ERA). It’s hard to imagine there’ll be interest in Swarzak right now.

Royals purchased the contract of RHP Anthony Swarzak from Triple-A Omaha.
Swarzak had a rough few weeks with the Diamondbacks earlier this season but rebounded with a nice showing at Omaha. The veteran reliever figures to be used in low-leverage situations.

Royals signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract.
Swarzak is already on the roster at Triple-A Omaha and could maybe get a look in Kansas City down the line if he pitches well there. The veteran reliever was released by the Diamondbacks last month after allowing five earned runs on seven hits and a walk over 4 2/3 innings this season out of the Arizona bullpen.

    Diamondbacks released RHP Anthony Swarzak.
Swarzak cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will now test the free agent waters. The 35-year-old veteran righty surrendered five runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings out of the Diamondbacks’ bullpen to open the 2021 campaign. He’ll likely be able to latch on with a new organization on a minor-league deal as a potential bullpen depth option.

The right-hander was off to a rough start in 2021 carrying a 9.64 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over 4 2/3 innings. The Diamondbacks recalled J.B. Bukauskas to take Swarzak’s place on the roster.

Diamondbacks signed RHP Anthony Swarzak to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Swarzak was released by the Phillies toward the end of summer camp workouts last year and failed to latch on with another team. He posted a 4.56 ERA over 53 1/3 innings between the Mariners and Braves in 2019.

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times notes that Steve Cishek and Anthony Swarzak also threw at Corey Kluber’s free agent showcase on Wednesday.
All three free agent pitchers are clients of Jet Sports Management. Cishek was cut loose by the White Sox in late September after struggling to a 5.40 ERA over 20 innings of relief during the condensed 2020 season. Swarzak, meanwhile, got released by the Phillies at the end of summer camp and failed to latch on elsewhere. Per reports, there were about 60 scouts present representing upwards of 25 major league teams.

    Phillies released RHP Anthony Swarzak.
Swarzak requested his release and will presumably attempt to latch on with another team. The 34-year-old posted is coming off a 4.56 ERA and 52/27 K/BB ratio in 53 1/3 innings last season between the Mariners and Braves.

Phillies released RHP Anthony Swarzak; re-signed him to a minor league contract.
It’s a procedural move, and Swarzak is expected to soon be added to the Phillies’ player pool for Major League Baseball’s planned 60-game 2020 campaign. The 34-year-old reliever posted an underwhelming 4.56 ERA and 52/27 K/BB ratio in 53 1/3 innings last season between the Mariners and Braves.
