Terms are unavailable, but every draft pick to sign thus far has inked a four-year deal. Montgomery, who played in college at Minnesota, is more of a run-stuffing defensive tackle.

Montgomery was a backup tackle under the previous regime, but he likely wasn’t viewed as a fit in the new 3-4 scheme. Montgomery is only 26 and goes 6'6/330, so he’ll have a chance to latch on elsewhere.

The Ravens do need depth at cornerback, but Fisher simply has nothing left in the tank at this stage of his career. Montgomery didn’t fit the Redskins new 3-4 scheme, but he could work in as a rotational tackle in Baltimore’s 4-3 defense.

Montgomery has passed fellow sophomore Kedric Golston to be Cornelius Griffin’s complement on the interior. Montgomery, a 6-5/315-pound run stuffer from Minnesota, has played exceedingly well so far this season.

Montgomery, 25, recorded two sacks and 23 tackles as a rotating backup for Kedric Goston last year. His snaps will go down behind Albert Haynesworth.

After losing his starting job to Albert Haynesworth, Montgomery has yet to be active for a game this season. The Redskins aren’t likely to get more than a conditional late-round pick if they succeed in dealing him.

Clinton Portis and Albert Haynesworth are both active for Washington.

FOX’s John Czarnecki suggests a trade to Carolina, which remains desperate for interior help even after Tuesday’s acquisition of Louis Leonard. Montgomery has starting experience and a 6'6/312 frame. However, the Skins are usually in the business of giving up draft picks, not acquiring them.
