    Reds released OF Anthony Alford.
Alford signed a minor league contract with Cincinnati back in mid-February following a couple seasons overseas with the KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization. His return stateside didn’t go well as he batted .222 (8-for-36) with one homer in 12 games for Double-A Chattanooga prior to being cut loose. The 29-year-old was once one of the better prospects in baseball and hasn’t appeared in the big league since 2022.

The KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization announced Friday that they have re-signed outfielder Anthony Alford to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.
The 28-year-old was never able to put anything together stateside -- slashing just .209/.275/.368 over 240 plate appearances in his big league career. He shined in his first season with the Wiz though -- hitting .286/.362/.509 with 14 homers and 50 RBI in just 80 games.

    Guardians released OF Anthony Alford.
Alford already has a deal lined up with the KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization. The 27-year-old former top prospect leaves behind a .209/.275/.368 batting line in 240 career major league plate appearances.

Guardians signed OF Anthony Alford to a minor league contract.
Alford was able to latch on with the Guardians, and will report to Triple-A Columbus, just a few days after being designated for assignment by the Pirates and electing free agency. The 27-year-old former top prospect holds an underwhelming .209/.275/.368 triple-slash line with eight homers and 11 stolen bases across 240 plate appearances at the major-league level since 2017.

Anthony Alford has elected free agency.
Alford has refused an outright assignment to Triple-A Indianapolis and will test the free agent waters instead. The 27-year-old outfielder missed the opening two weeks of the season with a sprained right wrist and appeared in just a pair of games before being designated for assignment last week. He should be able to latch on somewhere as extra outfield depth, but may have to settle for a minor league contract.

Pirates sent OF Anthony Alford outright to Triple-A Indianapolis.
The 27-year-old was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as outfield depth for the Pirates. If he can’t crack this Pirates roster though, his chances of fantasy relevance this season seem minimal.

Pirated designated OF Anthony Alford for assignment on Sunday.
Alford was designated for assignment to make room on the roster for Beau Sulser. The 27-year-old outfielder missed the first two weeks of the season with a sprained right wrist. It’s possible another team in need of an outfielder claims Alford or the Pirates find an interested trade partner.

Anthony Alford went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts Friday in his return to the Pirates’ lineup.
Alford wound up missing the first two weeks of the regular season due to a sprained right wrist. The 27-year-old outfielder, who was inserted into the leadoff spot Friday evening against the Cubs, should factor into the Pirates’ everyday outfield mix moving forward.

Pirates activated OF Anthony Alford from the 10-day injured list.
Alford got a late start to the season because of a sprained wrist, but he’s ready to roll now. He should see a good amount of playing time in the outfield.

Anthony Alford (wrist) began a minor league rehab assignment Saturday with Single-A Bradenton.
Alford opened the regular season on the injured list after spraining his right wrist towards the end of spring training. He’ll likely require a few weeks to ramp up before rejoining the Pirates’ outfield mix.
