Broncos signed Vanderbilt DE Andre Mintze.
Despite his relatively understated two-star prep billing, Mintze (6'3/253) flashed enough potential at Imhotep Institute to catch Vandy’s eye. He took some time to develop and didn’t see the field much for his first three years on campus. He emerged as a dependable edge player in 2019, racking up 40 tackles, 7.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks while starting nine of 12 games. Mintze’s best attributes are impressive burst and speed, as he has the wheels to beat even SEC caliber tackles off the edge. His 4.63 second 40-yard dash time is a 95th percentile mark, with a 1.52 10-yard split that ranks in the top one percentile of historical edge rushers. ‘Tweener size makes his transition to the next level a little murky, and larger blockers can swallow him whole when they get a hold of him. Short 32 3/4" arm length impairs his ability to control blocks and disengage.
