Bears signed undrafted free agent TE Jake Tonges.
A Cal product, Tonges recorded 22 catches for 278 yards and two touchdowns in 2021, becoming a starter after playing special teams in his first three years at Cal. He had 47 catches, 620 yards, and four touchdowns during his collegiate career. Tonges has an uphill climb to crack Chicago’s roster this summer. The Bears also signed the following undrafted free agents: Iowa State tight end Chase Allen, Florida tackle Jean Delance, Ohio State running back Master Teague, Purdue linebacker Jaylan Alexander, Louisville linebacker C.J. Avery, Miami defensive back Amari Carter, Minnesota defensive lineman Micah Dew-Treadway, Missouri defensive back Allie Green, Ole Miss defensive back Jaylon Jones, and Wisconsin linebacker Jack Sanborn.

  • FA Defensive Back #31
Bears signed Missouri CB Allie Green.
Green (6'2"/202) is a physical beast and tough matchup for any opposing wideout. What makes him an exciting prospect is he uses his imposing size in press coverage and can get a receiver off his route and contest catches. Green does need to learn to hold back, as he can get a little too aggressive in coverage, which will lead to referees throwing the laundry. He can backpedal and change directions fluidly but gets gassed on longer routes. Any quarterback that can create a little more time in the pocket to allow receivers to gain separation should find Green’s assignment open. He has minor areas to improve on, and if he can do that, he has to potential to be a good player at the next level.
