    Falcons released DE Allen Bailey.
The move saves the Falcons $4.5 million against the cap. He and DB Ricardo Allen were both obvious cap casualties with Atlanta entering the offseason 30th in cap space. Bailey, 34, will be settling for a backup job if he chooses to continue playing. He spent eight years with the Chiefs before playing his last two in Atlanta. The Falcons will be making a few more cuts before free agency.

Falcons signed DL Allen Bailey to a one-year, $4.5 million extension through 2021.
Bailey gets a $3.25 million signing bonus up front, and the deal creates some 2020 cap space for the Falcons. Bailey, 33 today, received plus marks from Pro Football Focus for both his run defense and pass-rush push on 511 defensive snaps last season.

Falcons signed DE Allen Bailey, formerly of the Chiefs, to a two-year, $10.5 million contract.
The deal includes $3.5 million guaranteed. Bailey will reunite with new Falcons assistant Bob Sutton, who he played under with the Chiefs in notching a league-high four fumble recoveries and career-high six sacks just last year. Despite those outlier marks, his upside is that of a rotational player at this point in his career. Bailey turned 30 in March.

Free agent DT Allen Bailey is visiting the Falcons Wednesday.
This is Bailey’s fourth known visit of the offseason; he previously met with the Seahawks, Panthers, and Patriots. Bailey turned 30 back in March and is a mere rotational player at this stage of his career.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports free agent DE Allen Bailey is visiting the Seahawks.
The former Chief has also met with the Panthers and Patriots. Bailey will be a rotational piece wherever he lands.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports free agent DE Allen Bailey is visiting the Panthers on Monday.
The Panthers are planning to use more odd fronts this season, which is the scheme Bailey played in for eight seasons in Kansas City. Bailey collected 19.5 sacks over 102 games in those eight years.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #90
DL Glenn Dorsey was taken to the locker room in a cart following a leg injury he suffered during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
We guess no news is good news, as normally a serious injury will be accompanied by a report of some kind. If Dorsey does miss time, rookie DL Allen Bailey will be first up to fill the void.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #93
The Chiefs are expected to give second-year DE Allen Bailey an expanded role this season behind LE Tyson Jackson and RE Glenn Dorsey.
With Wallace Gilberry gone, Bailey will be Kansas City’s primary nickel end after managing 10 tackles and one sack last season. If Bailey excels in the role, he could be ticketed for a starting job the following season. Dorsey is in a contract year, and Jackson’s 2013 base salary is an unmanageable $14.72 million.

Chiefs placed DE Allen Bailey (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Bailey’s second NFL season wraps with zero sacks and five tackles in 10 games. The nickel rusher will be back next year to fight for more snaps as a rotational end.

Updating a previous item, Chiefs DE Allen Bailey suffered a torn pectoral in Week 6.
He was placed on I.R. on Tuesday. This is more for bookkeeping purposes. Bailey is a strong run defender and has two more years left on his contract.
