Alex Sanabia has signed with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League.
Sanabia last appeared in the majors way back in 2013 with the Marlins. The 33-year-old journeyman right-hander signed a minor league contract with the Mets last summer and registered a 4.76 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 11/7 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings (10 appearances, five starts) at Triple-A Syracuse.

Mets signed RHP Alex Sanabia to a minor-league contract.
Sanabia hasn’t appeared in the major leagues since the 2013 campaign, nearly a decade ago. The 32-year-old righty hasn’t pitched in the minors since a six-game stint at Triple-A with the Reds back in 2016. He’ll likely serve as organizational pitching depth for the Mets moving forward.

Alex Sanabia is expected to start the second game of a doubleheader against the Phillies on Thursday.
Anibal Sanchez will start the first game. Sanabia, who was just called up from the minors last week, posted a 7.89 ERA over four starts with Triple-A New Orleans after missing the first four months of the season due to an elbow injury. He can be ignored in fantasy leagues.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #45
Marlins manager Jack McKeon confirmed Monday that Brad Hand will not start again this season.
Hand, 21, has logged 173 2/3 innings this season between the minors and majors, so the Marlins have decided to shut him down for the season. Alex Sanabia will start in his place Saturday against the Brewers.
  • MLB Starting Pitcher
Alex Sanabia was tagged for three runs -- two earned -- and six hits in 1 1/3 innings by the Tigers on Tuesday.
Sanabia was supposed to be the Marlins’ sixth starter last season, but he hurt his elbow and missed most of the year. Brad Hand is shaping up as the first alternative for the rotation now, but Sanabia could reemerge as a factor later.

Marlins recalled RHP Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans.
Sanabia held a 4.06 ERA over 17 starts at New Orleans this season. He’ll likely return there to start 2013.

Marlins manager Jack McKeon said he would like to give Alex Sanabia another start before the end of the season.
Sanabia certainly earned one, giving up just one run over six innings in the second game of Thursday’s doubleheader. “Let’s give him another look, let him go out on a positive note [knowing], ‘My arm is OK,’” McKeon said. “Maybe he’ll have a chance to pitch here next year. He throws strikes. That’s the big thing. He makes them hit the ball.” Sanabia, who has missed most of the year with elbow issues, is slated to go to the Arizona Fall League in order to make up for some lost innings.
  • MLB Starting Pitcher
Alex Sanabia allowed four runs over six innings as the Marlins lost to the Reds on Wednesday.
Four runs was actually a good showing for Sanabia, as he gave up nine hits and three walks on the night. The right-hander now has a 5.00 ERA and probably shouldn’t be starting for a major league team, let alone a fantasy one. His next start will come Monday against the Phillies.
  • MLB Starting Pitcher
Alex Sanabia scattered seven hits while holding the Phillies to one run in 6 1/3 innings in a victory on Monday.
Sanabia snapped a five-start losing streak, winning for the first time since April 16. With his 1.69 WHIP and 28/24 K/BB ratio in 51 1/3 innings, he wouldn’t be much of a fantasy option even if he pitched for a good team.

Marlins placed RHP Alex Sanabia on the 15-day disabled list with weakness in his right groin.
Sanabia felt discomfort in his groin during Sunday’s loss to the White Sox and had to be lifted after four innings. The exact severity of the groin issue is unclear at the moment. Nathan Eovaldi will take Sanabia’s spot in the Marlins’ starting rotation later this week.
