Eagles selected Florida DE Alex McCalister with the No. 240 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
McCalister (6'6/239) turned pro after his redshirt junior campaign, only starting six college games but piling up 18.5 career tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, six interceptions and seven forced fumbles. McCalister has incredibly long arms (36") and good athleticism, running 4.80 with a 10-foot-8 broad jump and terrific agility scores in Indy. Unfortunately, McCalister was kicked off the UF team last December and is a major project. McCalister’s calling card is his elite get-off after the snap. He has a low floor, but upside as a potential rush end-'backer in sub-packages.
