Cowboys signed EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad, formerly of the Colts.
Muhammad was hit with a PED suspension late last season while on the Colts practice squad. The veteran EDGE has totaled 12 sacks in his six-year career and will likely have a chance to carve out a role on a Cowboys roster that recently lost pass-rusher Sam Williams to a torn ACL. Muhammad recorded six sacks during his 2021 season with the Colts but didn’t play a regular-season snap last season. He’s not a lock to make the 53-man roster.
  • IND Defensive End #97
Colts EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad six games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.
Muhammad joined the Colts on a one-year deal in the offseason but was cut near the end of training camp. The team re-signed him to their practice squad, but he has yet to appear in a game. Muhammad will miss the remainder of the season because of the suspension.
  • FA Defensive End #97
    Colts released EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad.
Muhammad re-joined the Colts on a one-year deal this offseason after being cut from the Bears at the end of last season. A former starter for the Colts during the 2021 season, Muhammad was hoping to catch on with his old team as added depth but found himself being left off the 53-man roster. Muhammad has 12 sacks in 84 career games but could catch on elsewhere as added defensive line depth.
  • Colts signed EDGE Al-Quadin Muhhamad, formerly of the Bears, to a one-year contract.
Muhammad started all 17 games for the Colts in 2021 and parlayed that into a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bears in the following offseason. The deal ultimately flopped as Muhammad notched just one sack and one TFL across 16 games. He was released at the end of the season. Muhammad will rejoin the Colts also a depth option for the team this time around.
  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Jets are hosting free agent EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad for a visit.
Muhammad appeared in 16 games for the Bears last season, totaling one sack and 29 tackles. A former sixth-round pick of the Saints in 2017, Muhammad has been used primarily as a role player but totaled a career-high six sacks in 2021. If he and the Jets reach a deal, he’ll likely serve in a similar capacity.
  • DET Linebacker #69
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Chicago is expected to release DE Al-Quadin Muhammad.
Signed to a two-year, $10 million deal last offseason, Muhammad had one sack in 16 games (nine starts) as part of Chicago’s defensive line rotation after posting six with the Colts in 2021. This was an easy decision for Chicago, saving $3.9 million while leaving behind $500K in dead money. Muhammad, 27, will likely be limited to one-year offers as he heads back to free agency.

  • DET Linebacker #69
Bears signed DE Al-Quadin Muhammad, formerly of the Colts, to a two-year, $10 million contract.
Muhammad, 27 later this month, heads to Chicago to reunite with ex-DC and new coach Matt Eberflus. The former sixth-round pick started all 17 games for the Colts last season, playing a career-high 73% of the snaps, and registered a career-best six sacks. Muhammad will help replace Khalil Mack off the edge for the Bears.

  • FA Defensive Back #29
Colts CB Xavier Rhodes, CB T.J. Carrie, and DE Al-Quadin Muhammad were placed on the COVID-19/reserve list.
Rhodes is fresh off re-signing with the team on a one-year, $6.5 million deal. The big CB bounced back from 2019 struggles last season, with Pro Football Focus grading him as the league’s 14th best cover corner. Depending on these players’ vaccination status, they could miss a chunk of the team’s training camp after testing positive for the virus. The Colts are believed to be one of the least vaccinated teams in the NFL, along with Washington.

  • DET Linebacker #69
    Colts re-signed DE Al-Quadin Muhammad to a one-year, $3.4 million contract.
Muhammad has 0.0, 2.0, and 3.0 sacks in his three seasons with the Colts after a one-year stint with the Saints in 2017. The former sixth-rounder will compete for edge rushing snaps in Indianapolis’s suspect pass-rushing group.

  • DET Linebacker #69
Saints selected Miami (FL) DE Al-Quadin Muhammad with the No. 196 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Muhammad (6'3/253) dealt with myriad off-field trouble at The U, serving several suspensions that prevented him from playing two of the past three years, including in 2016. In 2015, he did pile up a team-high 8.5 tackles for loss to go with five sacks. Muhammad tested as an unimpressive athlete in Indy, running 4.88 with a 30 1/2-inch vertical. He’s a long shot on many levels.
