Reserve Eagles WLB Akeem Jordan’s right shoulder injury has been diagnosed as a “slight” labrum tear.
He’ll reportedly “struggle to practice” this week, so his odds of being active in Week 2 against the Falcons are not looking good. Jordan’s absence would presumably lead to more snaps for Keenan Clayton behind starter Moise Fokou.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Jamar Chaney (neck surgery) is expected to shift to strong-side linebacker following the acquisition of MLB DeMeco Ryans.
Brian Rolle will stay on the weak side, leaving Akeem Jordan as the odd man out. Chaney will likely give way to Casey Matthews or Keenan Clayton on passing downs, limiting his production in IDP formats. Chaney expects to be recovered from neck surgery by training camp.
  • FA Linebacker #54
The Philadelphia Inquirer believes Eagles LBs Akeem Jordan and Moise Fokou “may face an uphill battle for roster spots.”
Both Jordan and Fokou made seven starts in 2011, but could be the odd-men-out after Philly traded for DeMeco Ryans and spent a second-round pick on Mychal Kendricks. Jordan was the more productive player last season, and with two more years of experience in the Eagles’ system, should have a leg up on Fokou if it becomes an “either/or” proposition.
  • FA Linebacker #54
Eagles WLB Akeem Jordan was forced from Sunday’s game against the Cowboys with a concussion.
The reserve linebacker and special teamer had one tackle before going down. He’ll likely be questionable at best for Week 9, and should be considered week-to-week.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Eagles placed LB Moise Fokou (ankle) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Fokou suffered the injury, perhaps a high-ankle sprain, in last week’s loss to the Patriots. He had just 22 tackles in 11 games, losing his starting job to Akeem Jordan in Week 10. Fokou is signed cheaply through 2012, but the Eagles should make it a priority to find an upgrade in the offseason.
  • FA Linebacker #54
Akeem Jordan has unseated Brian Rolle as the Eagles’ starting weak-side linebacker.
Rookie Mychal Kendricks will start on the strong side and DeMeco Ryans will work the middle. Rolle struggled throughout the preseason and will join Jamar Chaney as the team’s primary backup linebackers. On the roster bubble earlier this offseason, 28-year-old Jordan is not a long-term solution.
  • FA Linebacker #54
Eagles WLB Akeem Jordan (hamstring) will return to the starting lineup in Week 6.
Jordan is ready to return after two weeks off. Sluggish thumper Jamar Chaney heads back to the bench.
  • HOU Head Coach #59
Eagles MLB DeMeco Ryans will not play a three-down role on Sunday against the Browns.
Coach Andy Reid confirmed Friday that he will be shuffling his linebackers depending on the package. Ryans, Mychal Kendricks, Akeem Jordan, Brian Rolle, and Casey Matthews all could see the field at various points on Sunday. This is a huge blow to Ryans’ IDP value. He’s barely an LB3 option this week.
  • FA Linebacker #54
Akeem Jordan (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Steelers.
Jordan hasn’t returned to practice and won’t play for the second straight week. Jamar Chaney will start in his place at weakside linebacker.
  • FA Linebacker #54
Eagles WLB Akeem Jordan was forced from Sunday’s opener against the Rams with a right shoulder injury.
The reserve linebacker is doubtful to return. His absence should mean more snaps for starting WLB Moise Fokou in sub-packages.
