  • DAL Wide Receiver #3
Cooks will now miss the next four game after developing an infection in his knee following a preseason knee scope surgery. The Cowboys will be forced to lean on Jalen Tolbert in a secondary role, but Cooks’ absence is most likely to benefit tight end Jake Ferguson in the immediate future.
  • NE Wide Receiver #84
Bourne started the season on the physically unable to perform list after a torn ACL suffered early in 2023. He will make his season debut against the Dolphins in Week 5, although the current state of the New England quarterback room has left all pass-catchers with little fantasy upside for the time being.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #3
Beckham Jr. will make his season debut against the Patriots for a Dolphins team floundering on offense through four weeks. The Dolphins are one of just four teams yet to score 21 points or more in any game this season. Coincidentally, the Patriots are another one of those teams. Beckham Jr. could eventually carve out a significant role behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle but fantasy expectations should be held in check in Week 5 considering the state of the Miami quarterback room.
  • GB Wide Receiver #87
Doubs missed practice Thursday and Friday with what the team called personal reasons, but according to sources he’s unhappy with his role in the offense. It’s a surprising development as Doubs leads Packers wide receivers in snaps this year and he’s had 15 targets in the two games with Jordan Love under center. Doubs removing any mention of the Packers from his Instagram account seems to confirm his frustration. With Doubs and Christian Walker (ankle) both listed as doubtful for Week 5 against the Rams, the Packers’ wide receiver group is thinning. Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks are priority starts against Los Angeles on Sunday.
  • CLE Wide Receiver #2
Fowler wouldn’t say that Cleveland is shopping the 30-year-old wide receiver, but listed Cooper as an attractive option for teams in need of help at the position. While Davante Adams’ trade demands are well known, Fowler believes Cooper could be a more practical trade candidate due to his low $1.2 million base salary this year. Cooper and the Browns reworked his contract last offseason and he’s set to become an unrestricted free agent after the year. It’s unclear what level of draft pick compensation Cooper might garner via trade.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Richardson wants to play, but Fowler notes that pain tolerance and functionality are still concerns for the second-year quarterback. Joe Flacco has taken a lot of the reps in practice this week. While Flacco is in position to play, Richardson still hasn’t been ruled out and a has a chance to start.
  • JAX Tight End #17
Engram was limited in practice throughout the week. He has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury during pre-game warmups an hour before Jacksonville’s Week 2 matchup with the Browns. Getting in three limited sessions gives him a good chance of suiting up this week, but fantasy managers will need to check the Jags’ inactives to be sure. If Engram is ruled out before kickoff, Brenton Strange will draw his fourth start of the year.
  • SF Tight End #85
Kittle returned to practice on Friday but is still a true game-time call for Week 5. Backup tight end Eric Saubert caught two passes for 41 yards when Kittle missed Week 3 because of a hamstring injury. He would be a weak emergency option for fantasy managers if Kittle is ruled out on Sunday. Tucker Kraft and Colby Parkinson, who also play in the second wave of games, are better backup plans at tight end.
  • MIA Running Back #31
Mostert was upgraded to a full practice on Friday before being removed from the injury report. Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters he plans to modify how much Mostert plays in his first game back. In other words, he will be on a pitch count this week. With Miami’s offense spiraling sans Tua Tagovailoa, Mostert on a less-than-typical workload will top out at a low-end RB3 ranking for Week 5.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Richardson was very limited in practice throughout the week but was at least out on the field getting some reps in. Still, Joe Flacco reportedly got the first-team reps on Friday, indicating that head coach Shane Steichen is preparing for him to draw the start. That puts Richardson on the wrong side of questionable heading into the weekend. If Richardson does sit, Josh Downs and Michael Pittman will both get substantial boosts from Flacco’s accuracy on short throws and the decrease in quarterback rush attempts.
