Floyd was released by the 49ers on Tuesday, and it took mere hours for him to find a new home. The 32-year-old will get $10 million according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Floyd was able to procure 8.5 sacks with San Francisco in 2024, and he should be one of the primary pass-rushers for Atlanta in the 2025 campaign.
  • IND Quarterback #5
The Colts will reportedly hold an open competition between Richardson and Daniel Jones, who on Tuesday signed a one-year contract with Indy worth $14 million, with $13.5 million guaranteed. Richardson, who has struggled mightily with accuracy and touch throws over this 15 NFL starts, is working with a biometrics coach to clean up his throwing motion ahead of what will be a make-or-break year for the former first-round pick. Richardson, per his agent, will be “ready to roll” for a competition with Jones.
  • FA Quarterback #8
Garafolo went as far as saying the Giants believe Rodgers would vibe well with Malik Nabers. Give us a break. It’s eerie how similar the Giants’ pitch is to what the Jets sold Rodgers two years ago. This time around it’s blue instead of green and Nabers instead of Garrett Wilson. Maybe they can get Jordy Nelson to fill the Allen Lazard role. The quarterback market is drying up quickly in free agency with Rodgers and Russell Wilson as the final “big” names on the board. The G-Men are also reportedly interested in moving up to the No. 1 overall pick, likely for Miami’s Cam Ward. The growing pains of a rookie quarterback, however, may be too much for Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll to survive. Either way, it’s a do or die season for the current regime in New York.
  • IND Quarterback #13
Jones get $13.5 million fully guaranteed in the deal. The Vikings reportedly made a run at keeping Jones for 2025 but the allure of a starting job in Indy lured Jones to the Colts. He’ll compete with Antony Richardson for Week 1 starting duties as Richardson undergoes biometrics training this offseason designed to clean up his terribly inaccurate passing and mechanically unsound throwing motion. Richardson since the start of 2023 ranks 42nd out of 42 qualifying QBs in completion rate over expected. Only four quarterbacks have a lower drop back success rate than Richardson over that two-season stretch. The Athletic’s James Boyd said in February Jones’ “abilities on the ground mean the offense won’t have to change much should Richardson miss more time due to injury” if A-Rich starts the year under center. The Colts are likely to flail between QB options in 2025, just as they did in 2024 with Richardson and Joe Flacco.
  • PHI Guard #76
Both picks are from the 2026 NFL Draft. The Eagles are getting younger in the secondary and CJGJ was a potential cut candidate. Instead, Garnder-Johnson finds a home with a contending AFC team and the Eagles land some extra offensive line depth plus a slight draft capital upgrade. Green was a first-round pick in 2022 but hasn’t panned out with the Texans, receiving disastrous blocking grades from Pro Football Focus in both of his full seasons. The Eagles, however, made the most of a similar situation last year by installing former Jets tackle Mekhi Becton at right guard. Becton played well in the role and is likely headed for a big contract on the open market. Green should get a shot at the starting right guard job in Philly.
  • FA Defensive Tackle #98
The Vikings are pouring resources into the defensive line in free agency, adding Hargrave and Jonathan Allen, who inked a three-year deal with the Vikings on Tuesday morning. Hargrave, who logged 21.5 sacks from 2021-2023, missed most of the 2024 season with a serious triceps injury. He’ll be an immediate upgrade for a Minnesota defensive line graded by PFF as last season’s eighth worst pass rushing unit.
  • MIN Center #75
The former seventh-round pick took over as the Colts’ starting right guard midway through his second season. He held the job into year three and was putting his best work on film over the first five weeks of his fourth and ultimately final season with the Colts. His season was then ended prematurely by a broken tibia that required surgery. Fries was on pace for a top-five overall grade at guard by Pro Football Focus before going down with the injury. The massive contract indicates his recovery won’t be an issue in 2025.
  • MIN Defensive Tackle #93
Minnesota lands one of the most sought-after defensive players in free agency. Allen will join a Vikings defensive line that last season had the NFL’s sixth highest QB pressure rate and the ninth highest hurry rate. Pro Football Focus graded Minnesota’s defensive line as the eighth worst pass-rushing unit in the NFL last year. Allen, 30, totaled 19 tackles and three sacks in eight games last season in Washington while generating 16 pressures. He’ll be an important part of the Vikings defense in 2025.
  • FA Quarterback #8
The Steelers and Giants currently appear to be the frontrunners for the veteran quarterback, although Florio reports it’s the Steelers currently in the driver’s seat. Rodgers has indicated he intends to play for two more years and the Steelers give him the best chances of doing so. They also have a more sturdy roster around him, especially after adding DK Metcalf earlier Monday. Those two aspects combine with an increased chance at the postseason in Pittsburgh to make them the likeliest landing spot for Rodgers. There isn’t anything yet set in stone, but the two sides seem to be heading towards a resolution.
  • MIN Cornerback #7
Murphy was poised to hit the open market come Wednesday but the team ultimately retained his services through a contract that makes him the fourth-highest paid cornerback in the league. After beginning his career in Arizona, Murphy has played the last two seasons with the Vikings and brings familiarity with defensive coordinator Brian Flores’ system. Murphy and the Vikings had a rollercoaster offseason with ongoing negotiations, but ultimately they were able to come to a meeting of the minds before the new league year begins Wednesday. Minnesota’s No. 1 cornerback will return for 2025 and beyond.
