  • LV Quarterback #19

The Raiders were put in a bind at quarterback after Aidan O’Connell hit injured reserve with a thumb injury. Ridder is likely to serve as the primary backup behind Gardner Minshew while O’Connell is on injured reserve. Ridder was signed to the Arizona practice squad after Clayton Tune beat him out this offseason for the primary backup role behind Kyler Murray.
  • TB Running Back #1
This was though to be the case after White logged a full practice on Saturday, with his status now confirmed with the release of the Week 7 inactives list. The Tampa backfield situation remains unclear after rookie Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker performed well in White’s absence, with head coach Todd Bowles indicating the team would ride the hot hand moving forward. Also active in Week 7 is DT Vita Vea, who was added to the injury report late in the week. Inactive for the Buccaneers are DL C.J. Brewer, P Jake Camarda, TE Payne Durham, OG Royce Newman, and LB Jose Ramirez.
  • SF Wide Receiver #1
Fluid in the lungs technically means Samuel is struggling through pneumonia, which can be treated. Even so, head coach Kyle Shanahan said he was unsure how long Samuel would be in the hospital and out of the lineup. Shanahan also added that rookies Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing are likely going to be required to have big roles for Sunday’s game against the Cowboys. The reports of Samuel’s sickness popped up on Saturday before he played only four offensive snaps in the loss against the Chiefs, now clearly due to the fluid in his lungs.
  • NO Wide Receiver #15
Valdes-Scantling was released by the Bills following the acquisition of Amari Cooper and lands in New Orleans after the season-ending knee injury to Rashid Shaheed. Valdes-Scantling has experience operating in a downfield role like the one left behind by Shaheed, albeit with spotty success. Even so, he is likely to be given every opportunity to return significant value for fantasy managers in a bind at wide receiver.
  • SEA Wide Receiver #14
Metcalf is now considered week-to-week. The injury occurred during the Seahawks’ Week 7 victory over the Falcons, and saw the 6-foot-4 wideout carted off the field late in the contest. Mike Macdonald confirmed the sprain, but called it “minor” and that he’ll do everything he can to not miss any time. If he can’t go it will lead to increased targets for Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Jake Bobo will likely be the third wideout for Week 8 against the Bills.
  • SF Wide Receiver #11
It’s likely to be a torn ACL, as Kyle Shanahan said on Sunday, but there might be more damage after further testing. Aiyuk ends the season with a 25/374 line following a lengthy contract-related holdout that he’s surely glad he staged now. Jauan Jennings will be a hot fantasy waiver pickup this week.
  • WAS Quarterback #5
He added “We’re hopeful he can play, but we’ll also make sure to take every precautionary step and do it smartly for the player and the man.” Not the most glowing recommendation for the chances of a Caleb Williams-Daniels matchup on Sunday. Still, it seems as if the tenor of most reports about Daniels’ injury are positive and he avoided any fractures. Daniels’ injury report will be one of the hottest topics on the Wednesday docket.
  • CLE Quarterback #4
“Obviously, I believe in Deshaun,” Stefanski said when pressed. “But I also think it’s important just to acknowledge that he just had a bad injury and a bad break for him. We’re feeling bad for him and know that he’ll bounce back. But not getting into all those things down the road. I’m looking forward to him getting the surgery and obviously getting his body right back.” ESPN also reported that $44.2 million of Watson’s 2025 salary is insured. It sure sounds like there’s a chance that Watson will be competing for a job in 2025, if not trying to hold off a new addition.
  • MIA Quarterback #1
As ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes, Tagovailoa still needs to pass concussion protocol before he can play. The fact he’s being designated for return, however, bodes well for him playing in Week 8 against the Cardinals as long as he does get through those protocols. The Dolphins passing game has been wretched since Tagovailoa has been out, and while there’s significant risks involved, the southpaw returning would be great news for those who roster Tyreek Hill and Jayden Waddle.
  • LAR Wide Receiver #10
“That’ll be something that as we’re putting it together and really diving into it, we’ll have a better feel for,” McVay said. “But definitely excited to have him back.” Kupp will all-but-assuredly make his return against Minnesota after missing the past month-plus with his ankle injury. Even in limited action, the 31-year-old is capable of putting up fantasy-relevant numbers, although the Minnesota defense is a formidable — but not unbeatable — first game back. There’s risk in playing Kupp on Thursday, but that risk comes with significant reward. Make sure you check the reports in the coming days.
