  • LAC Wide Receiver #15

McConkey was limited in all three practices last week before being held out of a high-leverage matchup with the Chiefs. Another limited session today means he didn’t suffer any setbacks. It also makes it hard to say whether or not he will suit up for Week 15. If he doesn’t Josh Palmer and Quentin Johnston would both see plenty of targets. Palmer led the team with nine looks last week while Johnston score the Chargers’ lone receiving touchdown.
  • FA Head Coach
The “finalizing” terminology has already been reported by 247 Sports’ Adam Smith, but the fact that this is now being leaked to national reporters puts even more weight behind the rumors. Schefter also added a rather definitive statement to his report, saying, “Belichick is going back to school, to where his father served as an assistant coach in the 1950s.” We fully expect the ink to dry by the end of the week. Belichick was chasing the all-time wins record as an NFL head coach before the Patriots moved on. He needs 15 to take the crown from Don Shula. That will have to wait as the 72-year-old coach is headed to the college ranks for the first time in his career. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him rejoin the NFL in a few years, though it’s fair to wonder how many seasons he has left. Even if Belichick never returns to the pros, the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach will go down as the greatest of all time.
  • CLE Wide Receiver #19
Tillman has missed the past two weeks because of the concussion. He remains in the league’s concussion protocol and will need to get in a full practice before suiting up, but a limited session to open the week has him on track to face the Chiefs. With Jerry Jeudy fully breaking out in his absence, Tillman will return to a No. 2 role at best. Still, Jameis Winston is more than capable of making multiple receivers fantasy-relevant, making Tillman worth the roster spot in all formats.
  • SF Running Back #31
Guerendo was held out of the first two practices after suffering a sprained foot in the 49ers’ Week 14 win over the Bears. He returned for a limited session on Wednesday. With both Jordan Mason and Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve, Guerendo was the next man up last week, though that didn’t last long. If he can’t suit up tomorrow, Patrick Taylor will be the latest runner to take over the San Francisco backfield. He would sit in the RB2 ranks with Guerendo out.
  • NO Wide Receiver #12
Olave is eligible to be activated from injured reserve, but the Saints are nearing the end of a lost season and he has a lengthy concussion history. There’s no reason to rush him back for a few meaningless games. We still expect him to miss the remainder of the season, though Rizzi didn’t rule him out for the year just yet. Marquez Valdes-Scantling will continue to operate as the Saints’ top receiver for at least one more week.
  • NO Quarterback #4
Carr was concussed and suffered a fracture in his non-throwing hand after colliding with Kevin Austin, one of his own receivers, on a scramble in Week 14 against the Giants. He left the game and did not return. Per Rizzi, the hand injury isn’t expected to require surgery but Carr remains in concussion protocol. He will not be placed on injured reserve. Despite the pair of injuries and missing the first practice of the week, Carr was not ruled out for Week 15. Backups Jake Haener and Spencer Rattler split the first-team reps on Wednesday. Though we fully expect Carr to miss Sunday’s game, it sounds like he has a legitimate shot at returning before the end of the season.
  • LAC Quarterback #10
As expected, Herbert was officially listed as a DNP on the injury report. Head coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Herbert is dealing with an ankle injury in addition to the leg contusion he suffered in Week 14. Harbaugh noted that this ankle issue is separate from the high-ankle sprain he dealt with earlier in the season. None of that is good news, but Herbert has played through multiple injuries this year and will attempt to do so again this week. Our money is on him suiting up for a phenomenal matchup with the Bucs.
  • GB Wide Receiver #87
Per head coach Matt LaFleur, Doubs is still in the league’s concussion protocol. A full practice suggests he is in the final stages of the protocol and will be cleared for Week 15 before the final practice of the week. Doubs’ pace had slowed before his Week 12 concussion, but he was still leading the way in routes for the Packers. Doubs will return to the WR3 ranks once he is removed from the league’s protocols.
  • BUF Tight End #86
Kincaid was limited in all three practices last week but was held out of Sunday’s game versus the Rams. The extra week off should ensure that the knee issue doesn’t resurface down the road. Kincaid was stringing together low-ceiling TE1 weeks before the injury and should play his usual role in a shootout with Detroit this week. He will sneak back into the TE1 ranks in his first game back.
  • FA Head Coach
It’s not a done deal yet, but Belichick’s talks with North Carolina can no longer be written off as a power play toward an NFL gig. The interest appears to be real and mutual. Belichick was passed over for multiple head coaching gigs during the last NFL hiring cycle and has spent the 2024 season in various media roles. Bill was never long for the media world and is set to enter the college ranks for the first time in his storied career. He will replace legendary college football coach Mack Brown, who was relieved of his duties after a 6-6 regular season campaign. With the NIL era reshaping how college football teams are managed, Belichick’s experience as the Patriots’ de facto general manager will also come in handy. It’s certainly an odd fit for arguably the greatest NFL coach of all time, but we like Belichick’s odds in an increasingly stale looking ACC.
