  • MIA Running Back #31
Mostert was upgraded to a full practice on Friday before being removed from the injury report. Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters he plans to modify how much Mostert plays in his first game back. In other words, he will be on a pitch count this week. With Miami’s offense spiraling sans Tua Tagovailoa, Mostert on a less-than-typical workload will top out at a low-end RB3 ranking for Week 5.
  • IND Quarterback #5
Richardson was very limited in practice throughout the week but was at least out on the field getting some reps in. Still, Joe Flacco reportedly got the first-team reps on Friday, indicating that head coach Shane Steichen is preparing for him to draw the start. That puts Richardson on the wrong side of questionable heading into the weekend. If Richardson does sit, Josh Downs and Michael Pittman will both get substantial boosts from Flacco’s accuracy on short throws and the decrease in quarterback rush attempts.
  • CAR Wide Receiver #5
Johnson missed Wednesday’s practice but was back on the field by Thursday. He is good to go for Week 5. Johnson has seen 27 targets over the past two weeks and is coming off another strong showing with Andy Dalton under center. He ranks as a high-end WR2 versus the Bears.
  • HOU Running Back #28
Mixon returned to practice for a limited session last Friday before being listed as questionable. He did not suit up on Sunday but the return gave fantasy managers hope that he would be ready for Week 5. That was far from the case as Mixon didn’t practice it all this week and was ruled out entirely on the final injury report. His status for Week 6 is up in the air as well. Dameon Pierce is questionable this week, making Dameon Pierce a risky fantasy bet versus the Bills.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #3
Dell missed Week 4 with the chest injury but was upgraded to a full practice today before being removed from the injury report entirely. He should play without any limitations in a potential shootout with the Bills. Dell was running plenty of routes in the first three weeks but was unable to hit the home run play before going down with the chest issue. He was already a high-risk WR3 before injury and will not fall into the WR4 ranks for his first game back in action.
  • NYJ Quarterback #8
Rodgers was a DNP on Wednesday but practiced on Thursday and Friday to close out the week. He and the Jets, who are coming off a brutal 10-9 loss to the Broncos, now have a tilt with the Vikings in London. These games have proven difficult for offenses over the years, which could only add to the challenge of facing the Vikings’ fourth-ranked defense (14.8 PPG allowed). Rodgers shouldn’t be viewed as anything more than a mid-QB2 in Week 5.
  • CLE Tight End #85
Njoku returned to practice last week for on limited session but was ruled out on Friday. He got in more practice reps this week, though the team still held him out of practice on Wednesday. He appears to be on the right side of questionable heading into the weekend, but fantasy managers will want to check Cleveland’s inactives ahead of kickoff. If Njoku is cleared for action, he will rank as a high-risk TE1 versus Washington.
  • IND Running Back #28
This was always the most likely scenario. Taylor didn’t practice this week and could miss several weeks after suffering a high-ankle sprain in last week’s win over the Steelers. Steichen did not speak about Taylor’s impending absence, but we know the backfield will be long to Trey Sermon in Week 5 against the Jaguars.
  • IND Quarterback #15
This is the most “behind the curtains” look we’ve gotten at Anthony Richardson’s (oblique) Week 5 availability this week. While Richardson is reportedly at practice again on Friday, he has been listed as limited throughout the week, and could be in line to miss at least one game while recovering from last week’s injury. The Colts will release their final injury report shortly, but things could be shaping up for Flacco to start in Week 5 against the Jaguars.
  • ARI Tight End #85
McBride clearing protocol is great news for the Cardinals, who get back one of their top options in the passing game. Over the first three weeks of the season, McBride ranked second on the Cardinals in targets (22) while leading the team in receptions (14). He’s scored as a top-12 fantasy tight end in two of the three games he’s played in, and should be viewed as a TE1 in Week 5 against the 49ers.
